How do I fill out the form listing the properties of emigrants?

The CRA considers that when a person emigrates from Canada, he/she is presumed to have disposed of all Canadian property. Therefore, if an emigrant has property with a fair market value greater than $25,000, that person must provide a list of all such property on the T1161.

To fill out the T1161 form in DT Max, enter the keyword Property-Em for each item to appear on the list. These deemed capital gains must also be entered in CAPITAL-GAIN in order to appear on the schedule of capital gains and losses.
